The Chameleon in the Wind

Produktinformationen "The Chameleon in the Wind"
The book was written about living and dealing with a Vietnam Veteran who had severe PTSD from the viewpoint of a person outside the disease and the VA system. Much has been written from the perspective of the afflicted veteran but not as much about how it affects his loved ones and what his life was like. It was not meant to criticize the VA or its hard working employees. The VA system is overwhelmed with the number and seriousness of injured veterans it is being asked to serve. The Vietnam Veterans in particular were not treated promptly when the injury was not physical in nature. Years between injury and any assistance made recovering a normal life very difficult or impossible. Many were left to fend for themselves for many years and forced to fight for treatment which should have been much easier to access. Many never have received treatment or assistance of any substantial nature and have either become hopelessly lost in the homeless population or died from disease or self-inflicted injury. This is the story of a man who, in spite of these things survived and found some happiness in life.
